More increases in flights for BNE.

Qantaslink has recently increased their BNE-MOV(Moranbah flights from 5 to 8 a week and shortly to 9.This route was operated by defunct carrier Macair who flew Saab 340's .Qantaslink are operating their smaller Dash8-200's on the route. This particular route is a popular for fly in fly out operations for the resources industries, which is coal mining.Over recent weeks Skytrans has also been operating several charters as well. The towns of Clermont,Emerald,Moranbah and the coastal port of Mackay will all see growth in air services over the coming years as construction commences on numerous mines in the area.

Also nearby is the Galilee Basin, the town of Alpha is central to 3 huge coal projects planned to start next year.Alpha is rumoured to be getting a new jet runway to take 100 seater jets.Lets hope that the WA carriers of Network,Skippers and Skywest may tempted to base some operations over here in the future as the Alpha region will require 15,000 construction workers.

Reminder Korean will resume their Thursday flight from this week making 4 a week from ICN.
