Qantas today announced that they will be introducing two return services per week
from Brisbane to Hobart from 12 December 2010 through to 25 January 2011.
This new capacity adds significant travel options for visitors and locals to travel
between these two great destinations at a traditionally busy time of the year.
Hobart Airport Chief Executive Officer Brett Reiss welcomed the announcement
saying “Qantas’ additional capacity at this time of the year will be welcomed by
travellers”.
“The new flights show further commitment from the Qantas Group to the Tasmanian
tourism industry”.
He added “Qantas currently fly from Hobart to both Sydney and Melbourne, the
addition of Brisbane as a new service is fantastic news for travellers”.
The flights will operate on Tuesdays and Sundays on the following schedule –
Depart Brisbane 0930; Arrive Hobart 1315
Depart Hobart 1355; Arrive Brisbane 1530.
Service will be by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
