Reminder China Southern starts next week

CZ381 from CAN should land at BNE on Tuesday 2 november 2010 from CAN at 0745. Services will be 3 a week with Airbus 330-200 aircraft.Aircraft departs at 0915 back to CAN.

Tue,Thurs,Sundays are the 3 days of operations at BNE.

We are excited by their return to BNE.In the 1990'S they operated twice weekly with 763'S ON Monday's and Friday's.

Strategic Airlines loses the ADF contract

2010 Contract for Air Sustainment Services
to the Middle East Area of Operations

Defence has entered into a two year contract with Adagold Aviation Pty Ltd for the provision of air sustainment services to the Middle East Area of Operations (MEAO). The contract was signed on 22 October 2010 and will commence on 23 November 2010.

The rumor is that Adagold may use Hi Fly with a Airbus 340-500.As Adagold is a BNE based company we may assume the aircraft would be BNE based.

Virgin adds a extra BNE-HBA flight

From December to March on Saturdays a new flight will operate out of BNE at 0930 and returning at 1530.This will be operated by 737 along with the other daily flights which are operated by E-190'S.
2 flights on a Saturday and daily on the other days.

Tiger to start BNE-SYD from 7 Feb 2011

Tiger Airways announced on Monday they will start a twice daily service between the 2 cities.
Schedule below.
TT6101 Dep SYD 0800 Arr BNE 0825
TT6102 Dep BNE 0855 Arr SYD 1130

TT6107 Dep SYD 1645 Arr BNE 1710
TT6108 Dep BNE 1740 Arr SYD 2015

This will give BNE 6 flights a day by Tiger with BNE-MEL and BNE-ROK being the other 2 routes.Unfortunately BNE-ADL ceases early next month.

Qantas announces seasonal BNE-HBA

Qantas today announced that they will be introducing two return services per week
from Brisbane to Hobart from 12 December 2010 through to 25 January 2011.

This new capacity adds significant travel options for visitors and locals to travel
between these two great destinations at a traditionally busy time of the year.

Hobart Airport Chief Executive Officer Brett Reiss welcomed the announcement
saying “Qantas’ additional capacity at this time of the year will be welcomed by
travellers”.

“The new flights show further commitment from the Qantas Group to the Tasmanian
tourism industry”.

He added “Qantas currently fly from Hobart to both Sydney and Melbourne, the
addition of Brisbane as a new service is fantastic news for travellers”.

The flights will operate on Tuesdays and Sundays on the following schedule –

Depart Brisbane 0930; Arrive Hobart 1315
Depart Hobart 1355; Arrive Brisbane 1530.

Service will be by Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

Phillipine Airlines Temporarily suspends BNE

MANILA - Philippine Airlines (PAL) is realigning its Australian operations starting with the temporary suspension of flights to and from Brisbane effective October 31, 2010.

Consequently, the flag carrier’s five times a week flights to Melbourne will be adjusted to thrice weekly, while flights to Sydney – one of PAL’s most popular Australian destinations – remains unaffected with five times (5x) weekly services, PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said.

In a news release, Villaluna said the decision to temporarily halt Brisbane services was due to marketing considerations.

Passengers to be affected by the flight realignments shall be properly notified by
PAL’s contact center and advised on the best options to proceed to their respective destinations, she said.

Villaluna stressed that Australia remains an important market for Philippine Airlines. Recognizing the route’s growth potential, she reiterated PAL’s long-term commitment to the island-continent. She stressed, however, that market conditions and the onset of the lean season necessitated some changes in the number of destinations and frequency of flights the flag carrier mounts to Australia.

There will be aflight on 18 december 2010 and agin on 27 jan 2011.
